The final trailer for Transformers 2: Spinning Whirligigs & Motorcycle Chicks.
Seriously, what is happening? I do not know if anyone in Paramount’s marketing department knows how to convey a clear idea in two minutes. (via /Film)

Hulu Is King. →
Now ABC, FOX, and NBC all stream their content on the site, leaving ol’ man winter in the cold on something called TV.com (which is perfect because if an old person wanted to watch TV on the internet, they would type “TV” in the address bar and then enter). The future may actually be coming.
Watching the trailer for Nora Ephron’s triumphant return to the screen, Julie & Julia, a film about one woman writing a blog intercut with another woman writing a book, three things come to mind:
1. Who gave poor Amy Adams that mullet? She looks like a dull Southern latchkey kid.
2. How is Amy Adams writing a blog about cooking a “dangerous assignment?”
3. The word...
The trailer for Post Grad, starring Alexis Bledel “of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” and a once again put-upon Matt Saracen.
Wait a minute: a quirky quarterlife crisis film starring a girl? Even if it lacks a hip indie soundtrack and looks… DTVish, a step in the right direction. And hey, good to see Michael Keaton keeping busy.

Things I've Learned From Designing Our Wedding...
1. I cannot draw a squash. 2. I apparently do not remember what a chicken looks like. 3. I still have the printing of a third grader. 4. Apparently e-vites are still considered “gauche.”
Ford Has Loss of $1.4 Billion, but Beats Forecast →
Only in this time and place is losing $1.4 billion in a quarter beating expecations.
Only in the time and place that created this current kerfuffle could setting the bar so low (a quarterly loss of $2.8 billion) that Ford is able to trip over it be considered reasonable.
And only in a market founded on such expectations could stock for Ford jump 15%.

Maybe he’ll reverse the dynamics and have a squad of Predators against one...

The backlash against anything deemed “twee” (a term used so abundantly and incorrectly it has lost all of its tiny meaning) always strikes me as utterly odd. Does BWE really want more Michael Bay movies in the world? Does an acoustic guitar and any handmade object (not made by M. Gondry) automatically disqualify a movie from judgement based on its own merits?
That said, does every...
SAG and studios have finally reached an agreement. →
Members vote on Sunday, and hopefully the fields will turn green once more in LA. The city has yet to recover from the WGA Strike and the détente caused for little reason by the actors has not helped.
Soderbergh knows how to cut a trailer and how to shoot digital.
The first trailer for his 4K/Sasha Grey experiment, The Girlfriend Experience, the second (following the excellent Bubble) in his triptych of digital films. (via /Film)

I missed Paul Rudd’s appearance on SNL while in Budapest (where Hulu blocked viewing) so I just watched the digital short, “Everyone’s A Critic,” for the first time. While there’s a lot of build-up, the payoff at the auction goes the distance in makng it all worthwhile.
I find it hard to believe that the Xcelerator hand dryer has less environmental impact than hand napkins.
